Attention all Lynnhaven boaters
Important meeting tomorrow.
Saturday, March 8 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Landing Fire Station located at 2837 Shore Drive.
Email From Senator McWaters
At the end of the summer last year, several constituents contacted me about perceived over patrolling by marine law enforcement in and around the Long Creek canal and the Lynnhaven waterways within the City of Virginia Beach. In response, I hosted a meeting with concerned citizens and representatives of the law enforcement agencies that have jurisdiction within those waterways. At this meeting, we discussed ways the various agencies could improve the coordination of their missions to reduce duplication of effort, but still keep our waterways safe and enjoyable for boaters.
As a follow up to our discussions last year and in preparation for the 2014 boating season, Virginia Beach City officials planned two town hall meetings to share educational information about boating safety and to provide a forum to answer questions from citizens.
These meeting is scheduled for Saturday, March 8 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Landing Fire Station located at 2837 Shore Drive. Representatives from the United States Coast Guard, Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, Virginia Department of Marine Resources Commission, Virginia Beach Fire Department, and the Virginia Beach Police Marine Patrol all plan to participate.
Enough of this mess! We are ready to kill some fish!
